Valletta - The Capital City of Malta.

Valletta - The Capital City of Malta, built by the Knights of St. John in 1566. It was given the name of Valletta after Grand Master Jean Parisot de la Valette, the grandmaster who proposed the building of this city. It was to serve as a fortification against any possible future attacks by the Turkish armies. Sir Walter Scott described Valletta as being: A city built by gentlemen for gentlemen.
